ARTWORK

All of the artwork displayed in our clinic is available for sale, with enquiries made through Haus of Skin for pricing and delivery details, with a private viewing that can be arranged with the artist.

For our services we do not take any commission from the artists – we are happy to support their journey and are thankful for being allowed to display their work proudly on our walls!

Any commission we do receive from sales – will be donated to our chosen charity of choice – The David Knott Foundation – more information on this incredible charity can be found here  www.davidnottfooundation.com

The David Knott Foundation

Dr David Knott, OBE, OStJ FRCS, Vascular Surgeon, Philanthropist, War Doctor.

I came across Dr Knott from his awe inspiring, spine tingling and deeply moving autobiography “War Doctor”, where he describes his humanitarian work as a surgeon in war zones.

His noble and selfless work in war zones has not only saved countless lives, Dr Nott has repeatedly put his own life at risk in the efforts to use his medical knowledge, skills and expertise to help those less fortunate.

As a Doctor this novel was deeply moving, seeing and hearing of someone so selfless and kind restored a lot of my faith in humanity and in medicine as a career choice.

Making the mundane trials and tribulations of the NHS seem unimportant, Dr Nott showed me why I chose medicine – but also why I have chosen to undertake this venture with Haus of Skin – to bring out the best in medicine and healthcare – to go beyond the scopes of the NHS and guideline bound protocols.

Dr Nott, alongside his philanthropic work, has also created a foundation to train doctors in war torn and disaster stricken countries to operate in austere environments – surgery by candle light, with the threat of destruction moments away, surgery without proper anaesthetic or limited medical supplies.

A true skill and an example of human innovation and adaptation at its finest.

We are proud to support the David Nott foundation in any way we can, which is why we chose to donate any commision or earnings from sales of artwork to this noble charity.

Emily J Traynor

Emily Traynor is one of the leading artists we have been closely working with on many aspects of the clinic, with her design and academic expertise in ancient languages being a cornerstone of many aspects of our design.

Talking to Emily, we found her passion and willingness to aid us in many different aspects refreshing and exciting!

Emily’s work not only adorns our walls, providing a sanctuary of peace and harmony in our clinic rooms, but evidence of her work and touch can be found throughout our clinic.

She kindly made the design for our wonderful candles, providing unique and intricate work for our candle jars, with hidden elements, harking back to ancient languages as well as being inspired by ancient medicinal remedies that form the basis of the scents of our wonderful candles.

Furthermore, in a desire to leave no stone unturned and make our clinic as unique as possible in every aspect, we had customised post care treatment boxes made, for our wonderful clients to take home with full sized products post treatment.

These boxes will not only change with each batch of 100, but each comes with a small A5 print of this work – a signed 1 of 100 limited edition copy – making each post care treatment box a collectable item!

Emily is not only a wonderfully gifted artist, but a master of ancient languages and scripts, translating much of this expertise into her works – with Sanskrit references throughout our candle jars, to using inspiration from J R R Tolkien’s creation of Elvish to design unique custom symbols for our website – a rather fitting inspiration as Dr Haroon & Dr Taz both come from Birmingham, the home place of Tolkein, but both also attended the same school as Tolkein!

Having recently been asked to present works at the rather prestigious Art Basel, Emily is being rewarded for her incredible talent and we are more than pleased to be a part of the wonderful journey she is on!

SNorman Art

Welcome to the vibrant world of Snorman Art, where the boundless beauty of nature comes to life on canvas.

My journey as an abstract artist began during the uncertain and isolating times of the pandemic, when I sought solace, healing, and self-expression.

With no formal training, I taught myself the art of painting and allowed my passion to flourish during a time when the world stood still.

I found inspiration in the intricacies of nature – its colours, textures, and patterns.

My artwork reflects the resilience and wonder of the natural world, reminding us of the eternal connection between humans and their environment.

Each piece I create is a visual symphony of flora and fauna, interwoven with the emotions and experiences that have shaped my journey as an artist.

Through my art, I invite you to explore the depths of your own connection with nature.

Immerse yourself in my vivid, abstract designs and be transported to a world where the lines between reality and imagination are blurred.

My work serves as a reminder that even during the most challenging times, beauty and inspiration can be found in the world around us.

Why we choose to collaborate

Snorman is one of the many artists we contacted and chose to collaborate with.

Her work reflects the blurring lines of human beauty, diving behind the surface layer to reveal the tones and textures beneath.

Her choice of blending the natural world and how as humans we need to connect with the natural world was a core ethos that appealed to us.

There is a greater need for us to take a breather and envelope ourselves in the natural world.

In Japan, the tradition of forest bathing has proven to be highly beneficial, with numerous scientific studies showing a significant benefit in immersing ourselves in nature.

Haus of Skin has been carefully designed and curated to be a sanctuary of peace and harmony.

The vibrancy and juxtaposition of the artwork in our communal areas creates a talking point but also a splash of colour and vigor to an otherwise neutral and soothing area.

Pieces from artists such as Snormal adorn our consultation rooms, providing a sanctuary of peace and harmony, where our skilled practitioners can take away your troubles and provide a period of relaxation and harmony from the chaos of London living!

We hope you enjoy the work by Snorman and help us in supporting this wonderfully talented lady in her pursuit of a lifelong passion and hobby.

Red Eight Gallery

We were very excited when Julian, founder and owner of Red Eight Gallery in London, housed in the stunning Royal Exchange, reached out to us following a request to have his gallery curate our wallspace.

A lover of more striking and bold pieces, Julian chose the artwork for our communal and reception area, creating a striking image and one which adds a splash of colour – and controversy to our reception area!

The various works of Gladriel Gestein adorn our reception area, and are again for sale.

Our collaboration with Red Eight Gallery goes beyond this artwork – we are proud to partner up with them, with future joint collaborations for their events and a view to host Red Eight Exclusive events in our clinic – utilising the multimodality our clinic offers!

The work of Gestein is highly interesting – producing art works on perspex which creates music as he paints, Gestein combines art, music and technology in a interesting, vivid and vibrant manner – certainly creating talking points!

All pieces displayed are for sale, further details can be found by contacting Haus of Skin or visiting www.redeightgallery.com/artists/80-galadriel-gestin

Yasemen Hussain

Hussein studied glass work in Illinois, learned “the tricks of the trade of concrete” in California and now sculpts the most intricate copper pieces imaginable in her converted stable house in south London.

Her metal feathers juxtapose elegance and lightness with the heft of their source material and are commissioned to act as light fittings, or interior centrepieces of varying sizes.

“But nothing is ever the same twice and because of the way I work, every piece is a total original.”

Commissions include a series of elaborate bespoke copper wigs for the V&A’s ‘Opera: Passion, Power and Politics’ exhibition, giant entwined feathers for the André Fu-designed cocktail bar at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, and a highly intricate permanent lobby installation for Clarges Mayfair, central London’s most exclusive and luxurious real estate project to date.

Hussein has also created dramatic front window pieces for Joseph, collaborated on headwear for Philip Treacy and created stagewear for Katy Perry and Will.I.am as well as fluid, windswept-looking metal “hairpieces” for Toni & Guy.

Why we chose Yasemen Hussains work

Yasemen we felt fitted perfectly into the ethos of Haus of Skin – striking and bold, but soft and elegant at the same time. Making a unbendable and partially moldable material into a piece of beauty.

A combination of vision, artistry and technique, to create something truly magnificent from the most basic of elements and substances we have been using for everyday life for centuries.

We greatly admire her work and felt her work provided a beautiful and calming atmosphere, perfect for our clinical rooms, whilst also providing a talking point and stunning visual.

Rosco Brittin

Rosco Brittin is a London based artist specialising collage. He explores the universe of natural and unnatural camouflage dipped heavily in a light fantastic, producing work that has been described as “when special F/X and paper first meet”.

Born and bred in a video shop in Kings Cross during the 80’s and later cutting his young proverbial art teeth working with the likes of Damien Hirst & Sokari Douglas Camp CBE, Brittin’s early experience in the creative circle was uniquely strange at best.

Why we chose Rosco

We immediately fell in love with the intricacy and detail of Roscos work.

Piecing together different elements from wallpaper cuttings to create a renaissance esque works that have you look at them longer and longer!

“These copper feather sculptures emerged from a newfound love for crafting Ostrich-style feathers.

Delving into my feather collection, I began creating feathers of various sizes and shapes, each one unique and a source of immense joy.

What started as a creative pursuit has evolved into a nearly meditative process, an art form I find so compelling that I never want to cease making these intricate feathers.”

Red Wreath - £POA

“This striking piece is crafted from pre-fabricated steel elements that have been skillfully hammered and soldered into an arrangement resembling a profusion of blooming flowers.

The sculpture is brought to life with a vibrant display of spray lacquering, showcasing a stunning array of red hues.”
